I'm sure you're also aware that along with appearing in the original Dawn Of The Dead, Savini created all the special make-up effects for that movie and it's Sequel Day Of The Dead. He was not involved with the first film because he was serving a tour of duty in Vietnam as a photographer but he did direct the not totally unenjoyable remake of Night Of The Living Dead in the early 1990s.
He also has makes a brief appearance in the remake of Dawn along with other members of the original's cast.
