i used to work for a prison, and all these inmates kept getting bit by brown recluse spiders. like thirty in one month. well on of my duties was to escort the exterminator while he sprayed for spiders. he sprayed the whole prison three times in one month and they were still getting bitten. so i asked him why the poison didn't work. he laughed and said that if you dont spray the poison directly onto the spiders, they wont die. so the warden brought the louisiana health dept. in and they said the same thing. they eventually made us go through everything in each of the housing units, kill the spiders by hand and fill in every crack, hole and crevice with grout. after that, we had no problem with spiders.
