I'm not sure if anyone else said this before I did, because I got too lazy to read all the posts before mine. I did scan them, and I didn't see anything, so here it goes.
The reason why the world is going down the shitter, is the gap between the "haves" and the "have-nots" is only getting bigger and bigger. What some people have, others want, and when the others can't have they get PISSED THE FUCK OFF. That's why things like 9/11 happen. Osama, terrorists, whoever you want to point your finger at, want things that they can't have, and they're pissed off about it.
I think the only real way to have all the problems in the world to end is to make everything socialistic. Granted, that would make the world a much more boring place to live in, and the need to be the best IS in human nature, it would be impossible. However, if everyone were equal, it would make the world a hell of a lot easier to be in.
I'm not sure if anyone else has read the book A Brave New World, but it poses a good point. Basically to just be happy, take lots of pills to make you happy, have lots of sex, and do what you're told. They breed people into the caste they're supposed to be in, and that's the way the world functions. And low and behold, the world runs perfectly! Even in the end of the book, the world continues to be as close to perfect as anyone can probably ever get.
But, as for now, the world is going to run its course and eventually collapse. There is no way to fix anything, because no one will listen to anyone else. Isreal, Palestine, Jordan, etc.. won't listen to each other, Suddam won't listen to the US.. The whole world is going to hell in a handbasket and there's no stopping it.
The best part is, those who don't get killed by the nuclear war will get killed by the resulting radioactivity! YIPPIE KY-YAY MOTHERFUCKERS. It's scary now that North Korea has nukes, isn't it?
