When I saw this thread, I thought you were asking for opinions on which one was better having seen them both. You are so lucky that isn't the case, because I'd be flaming you to no end for a stupid question like that. However, since you haven't seen the original, this post is a valid inquiry...
Original is about 500 times better.
Hitchcock + Perkins + black and white = much better movie than the remake.
