Hmmm ... how do you judge a real friend? I don't think I would want to be friends with someone who would help me cover up a murder ... so that doesn't count.

Here's a short list on how I determine who is a true friend:

1. He helps me move without expecting payment.

2. I feel comfortable borrowing money from him.

3. We can be in the presence of each other for long periods of time without feeling the need to say anything.

4. He'll drop everything (to a reasonable degree) to rush to my aid if I'm in a tight spot.

So, from this list, I have ....... 1. Not counting my wife. Everyone else finds me disagreeable nowadays. I used to be pretty popular in high school ... but, too many people have succumbed to that "adult comformity" thing that they don't feel comfortable around me for very long. At least not on anything deeper than a superficial level. Don't get me wrong, I'm the life of our parties, and everyone thinks they want to be great friends with me when we first meet ... but either they get on my nerves too badly, or they can't stand my constant bitching about how the world and people in general are so fucked up. I drive away many potential friends that way. Thankfully, my 1 friend enjoys bitching just as much as I do, and joins right in when I get in one of my "moods"! But I can be tiresome to people, that's for sure. Which is okay. I like to be alone most of the time, anyway. :D
