As some of you know, I am moving into a new house by the end of this week. I got home about 90 minutes ago with a crap-load of boxes and have been stuffing them with things while I post.
I just thought I would mention I few interesting things I have found.
1. Halloween candy. It was in a bag in a bowl pushed back towards the wall on the top of fridge. It's still good! :D
2. A copy of Time's Arrow by Martin Amis. For those of you who like to read interesting books, I recommend this. It is one of my favorites. It is the story of the life of a German doctor who performed hideous executions during WWII ... only the story is told backward. Hence, Doctors healing the sick seem to actually be killing them, and sadists killing people seem to actually be saving them. Here, Amis shows that the horrors of Nazi Germany were truly fucked up since they could only make sense if told in a reversal of time.
3. Why I am Not a Christian by Bertrand Russell. If anyone wants to argue about Christianity with me, I suggest they read this book first.
4. A copy of Stephen King's The Mist on audio CD. It comes in a really cool spider-box. I forgot I had this.
5. A poseable art doll: It's one of those faceless, wooden things that is completely poseable. They creep me out! (Stuffs it into the box).
6. An empty bag of Munchos: I actually remember eating these. I can't believe I left bag here! (Checks inside for remaining crumbs)
7. A copy of the King James Version of the Holy Bible: In MY house??? Yes! And it even has my name embossed on the cover! I keep it around because, as they say, "know thine enemy."
8. A plaque awarded to me when I won first place in the Calloway County Tournament of Champions for Storytelling. This was back in 1990.
9. A small replica of a garden gnome with the word "Games" carved on the side. It was a gift given to me by the office manager of a satellite business I sold products for back in the day.
10. An ornate letter-opener that looks much like a dagger. It has dragons and skulls engraved on the hilt. It's pretty cool. I wonder why I never use it.
That's it for now. Most of the stuff I have packed thus far is books (5 boxes of them!). But, I will post more if I find anything interesting. Or maybe I won't, because nobody probably finds this stuff interesting but me.
