I loved Donnie Darko. That movie made me cry, actually. I was so sad when he died.

I too love thought provoking movies. I thrive on movies (and the occasional TV series) that make you think, and don't expect you to just sit there and be a sheep. Donnie Darko, Memento, Waking Life, Fight Club, Identity (the movie itself was stupid, but it was a great concept, poorly executed), Silence Of The Lambs, Bowling for Columbine (yes, I'm a liberal, yes, I'm a democrat, yes, I like Michael Moore), etc.
