Damn. You know, you're right. I didn't really think about the mother and son being more "evil." But I thought the scene with the mom on the roof was creepy as hell, and the son had his particularly creepy moments as well (when the girl is having the nightmare, and the camera pans over to his face as he is lying next to her in bed, with his eyes wide open. That look on his face is pretty unsettling.)
