Yes he did.
I thought the movie was fun. Especially for those who saw most of the Godzilla films plus Atragon and Gorath, it was a kick to see all those elements weaved together. And then to watch Godzilla battle every monster? I'll take that. I even liked the 'The Matrix copy' karate parts of the film; with it's modern Hollywood camera shots.
