Really like BLACULA. Haven't seen SCREAM since 1973. For my Birthday party, I wanted to check SBS, but the majority of the guests wanted to see TORA TORA TORA.

This Brian DePalma film has SO MANY things going for it...a wonderful score by Pino Donaggio, impressive camera work (especially the Museum scene), many actors I like such as Michael Caine, Nancy Allen, Keith Gordon (became a director in later years, especially for DEXTER), Dennis Franz (hard to believe He was ever that trim or had so much hair) and Angie Dickinson, who is way sexy in here, Body Double or no.
The big problem is there are SO MANY references to PSYCHO...an unhappy Woman taking a desperate and foolish step for happiness, a battle of wills between Men and Women, if You will, Showers playing significant part in the story, an abrasive Authority figure, Amateur detecting (although Nancy and Keith are Einstein compared to Vera Miles and John Gavin) and a tidy wrap-up at the end to explain the why's. Also, the spilt screen was outdated by SISTERS (1973), so why use it again?
Despite my quibbles, DTK is a good film, but You will probably like it more if You haven't seen PSYCHO. ***
