Tough one... 1932

I think Night of the Living Dead is easily one of the best horror films ever, and Rosemary's Baby is a fine work, but they're alone. Whereas for 1932 -- Island of Lost Souls, Kongo, Murders in the Rue Morgue, Freaks, Vampyr and The Most Dangerous Game (not to mention The Mummy) is an impressive cultivated class of Horror.
