I've yet to find an actual horror that can scare me. They are all predictable, with similar plots. I was really looking forward to Annabelle and that let me down, it wasn't even scary. Nothing like what others had said about it. Then I was looking forward to 10 Cloverfield Lane and that was utter rubbish, no scares in that either. Same for so many of the ones that were out in 2016.
Psychological horror turned out to be better last year, with Hush and Don't Breathe. They were both well done. Though I didn't jump through any of them, they still held my attention and were really good. For me personally I like movies like they used to make ie Wolf Creek and The Hills Have Eyes, though they weren't scary as such they were F'k up in the best gruesome kind of way, my kind of horror movies lol much like Evil Dead excellent, comedic, full of true horror stuff. I am pretty sure I've now become immune to the new horror's ha ha damn it!
