I'd like to...but in all honesty the court thing is just time and money I don't have.
Not to mention with how things happen here, if they're just some little criminal asshole...they'll turn up in court, plead destitution, and try to get off saying they can only afford to pay like $5 a week forever.
If a person here is on welfare, has no assets...well, a company can *eventually* benefit from this kind of arrangement throughout their existence such as an insurer (who will likely be the ones to sue this person if it's going to happen) but it would be little to no benefit to the victim when it comes to actually getting something like this handled in a manner conducive to having an operational vehicle.

I guess I can be "happy" enough knowing that with every car they hit, they're likely to get hit with seperate charges for evading, malicious damage, wreckless driving/endangerment - two of which are indictable offences.
They locked them up on the night and they're being kept in custody until a hearing.
I'd say even without priors, they're pretty fucked.

Now, I don't know this person or what their financial status is, but as well as any potential incarceration or whatever penalty they get thrown by the magistrate, there will likely be a fine, and since the insurers will be involved there will be a demanded agreement.

...If I don't get things resolved to my satisfaction with the insurer, THEN I will step in too and I guess then we'll see what kind of money this person has.

As for the car, I think the axle has snapped or some part of it. The frame itself seems relatively unbent and solid...but who knows right?
Like I said I just hope I get my car back.
