Rue Morgue

anybody read this magazine?(www.rue-morgue.com)
its a awesome horror magazine...i just picked up the special halloween issue and theres a lot of awesome stuff in it...i suggest you pick it up...got it from barnes and noble for $7.95 american

I might be a little biased because I write for them from time to time, but Rue Morgue is far and away the best genre magazine I've seen.

With coverage of mainstream and indie, shorts and micro films, comics, music, and a new focus on horror lit, it's got everything a serious horror fan could want.

Anybody on the board who hasn't checked it out really should.

I THINK THEY SHOULD PUT ROUGE MORGE IN THE CHECK OUT ISLE IN YOUR LOCAL SUPERMARKETS, AND GET RID OF THE
BULL SHIT PUBLICATIONS....

RM is hands down (and severed) the best horror mag on the planet.

Proteus 09-23-2004 01:56 PM

Still and always will be a big fan of Fangoria just way more informative and Trustworthy then all other horror publications....don't get me wrong I do also purchase Rue Morgue but its over poorly edited and a little late with there info.

RM

I have to agree with Proteus, some of the info. isn't always up to date. For example: RM listed 'Saw' as being released Sept 17th, which I knew had been pushed back to the Halloween weekend. Now of course, this issue of RM was probably published before the decision to push the film back had been made.

SamCostello 09-24-2004 05:53 AM

Well, I think the issue with RM in regards to timely information is that it's published every two months, rather than monthly like Fangoria.

Even still, though, when you've got the Internet for the most up-to-date release information and that kind of thing, why do you need that in print?

Print publications seem best not for breaking news anymore, but instead for interviews, reviews, essays, and introducing people to new creators and new works - all of which RM is great at.

True the Internet is for sure the quickest and easiest way to find up to date info but a lot of it is shoddy and can't overly be trusted I still prefere holding an actual mag in my hand either it being Rue Morgue or Fangoria for my Info!
