The Fly

Anyone else hear that they were remaking The Fly...again? There's not a damn thing wrong with the Cronenberg version!!

THE FLY

Agreed . . . Cronenberg's version is one of my favorite horror movies *ever*.

So sad . . . I've always considered it more of a *tragedy*, really, than a straight-out horror film.

Fantastic.

Isn't this considered the re-remake?

I disagree. I think some movies should be left alone. If it aint broke, don't fix it.

I don't object to remakes as such IF someone has a new take on the original story.

What pisses me off is the number of remakes that all look like each other.

avenger00soul 10-28-2003 11:47 AM

It's absolutely crazy the number of remakes and sequels that are coming out. It's ridiculous. Hollywood has completely run out of ideas. We're simply remaking all of our classics and stealing from Asia. It's really a sad thing. The independent guys really have an opportunity to step up.

Another thought: Why don't they remake shitty movies? Movies that had potential but just sucked.

Im actually looking forward to this, Cronenberg's Fly was a remake, and it was amazing....so who knows? With the right guy playing the scientist[ theres rumors about Eric Bana], it could be damn good. Hopefully, however, they do like Croenberg did.....not exactly remake the last movie, but take a different aproach on the original story. If they try to remake the 86 version, it will be terrible.
