Stunned Parole Board Hears Admission To Other Murders

Manitoba Killer Admits To More Crimes

BOWDEN, ALTA. - A man who killed a teenage girl in The Pas, Man., 10 years ago shocked the panel at his parole hearing Wednesday when he confessed to committing other crimes.

Robert Bliss Arthurson was convicted of second-degree murder for strangling 13-year-old Sarah Kelly in 1994.

He was sentenced to life in prison, but was eligible for parole in September. The board denied him parole Wednesday, saying he still poses a risk.

During the hearing, Arthurson said there are 15 or 16 other victims. He did not give details of the other crimes, but said police did not know about some of them.

Still Has Fantasies

Arthurson said he was willing to face prosecution for the other crimes. Prison officials did not say what they might do about his admission.

Arthurson also told parole officials he still has sexual fantasies about young girls and did not expect to be released from prison. He apologized to Kelly's family, who attended the hearing.

Hundreds of people helped search for Kelly when she disappeared in September 1994. Her body was found three days later.

Before the parole hearing, at least 1,000 of The Pas's 5,700 residents signed a petition asking justice officials to keep Arthurson in jail.

Holy shit.... if they parole him, the parole board and their families should be forced to give this asshole their house keys...

I wouldn't worry.... There's no way a guy like that would get paroled...
