King of the Ants...

Where's all the King of the Ants buzz? This thing rocked. The ultimate spin on the Get Carter plot. Stuart Gordon is still the man.

I also reviewed this one here:

I enjoyed the movie ... but I wouldn't watch it twice. I think the lack of "buzz" may be due to the dispute on whether or not this one can be classified as a horror film.

Good call, Dr. K.

I think it's horror for the same reason Deadbeat at Dawn, Last House on the Left, and I Spit on Your Grave are horror. Because horror fans embrace these films more than anyone else. Plus, Stuart Gordon fucking rocks. This movie really pushed the boundaries I thought and blew me away. Chris McKenna might be one to watch for.

I agree completely, Avenger. Who else besides horror fans is going to rent this thing? I can't see anyone renting this and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen for a double-feature. Chris McKenna was also fantastic. I've seen it three times and have killed no one, nor have I kicked any small animals.

Well, great minds think alike Dr. K. Although, I have wanted to topple fridges on some people. Crazy scene.

Beyond Re-animator is pretty good as well. I just wished Dan Cain could have been brought back. I think he's an integral part of the series.

I don't believe I could even watch a Combs-less Re-animator movie.
