Funny story:
I like the movie a lot, but i have never played RE. I want to, would love to play them all. Just havent. Weird huh? If you have a computer and half-life, download they hunger (it has 3 episodes), it is well worth it. I will get you alink if you would like.

Vod, I took your advice and d/l'd the "they hunger" mod which you linked in abnother thread after seieng some screenshots that looked pretty fucked up...unfortunately I don't have the latest version of half-life myself....do I have to buy a new one or can I d/l such updates?
I also saw on some links to other pages n stuff there's LEAGUES of half-life conversions and mods...have you played any of the other ones?
I wanted to check out one that apparently takes place during the incidents of the first game, but you're some janitor guy...?

Here is the latest update:

http://www.fileplanet.com/download.aspx?f=57317

Looks like gamespy has a Australia/New Zeland DL server so it shouldnt take too long.

The official expansions are as follows:

Opposing force: You play a member of the Special Forces team sent in to clean up Black Mesa.

Blue-Shift: You play Barney, one of the security guards.

both are good, both were put out by Gearbox, so they are very consistent. they also overlap with scenes from the original, which is cool.

Counter-Strike is a "relaxed-reality" reality mod with terroristst vs counter terrorists. it is currently and has been for years) the #1 played online multiplayer game ever. it is awsome, i love it.

Day of Defeat is another very popular multiplayer mod, it is based on ww2.

There are also Team Fortress CLassic and FireArms, plus Death0match classic (a quake-themed multiplayer mod for hl)

there are tons and tons more. Natural selection is another big one, as is Sven-coop. most i have played (all of the above at some point) and all are good so far.

I meant more around the way of single player campaign mods, levels and conversions...official or otherwise, yknow, the ones "other" ppl make. Different storylines and all.

Vodstok 08-03-2004 10:52 AM

Single-player became a bit rare once counter-strike took off. Everyone wanted to get on the multiplayer bandwagon.

i will track some down for you though. i 'll get you links too.

Thanks man....
Not that I think I'll ever actually come across it again, one I never got tp play was a total conversion for doom (2 I think) based on ALIENS?
Ever hear of that one?

Vodstok 08-03-2004 11:37 AM

Not sure. there was one for quake at one point. a lot of mods like that were "Foxed".... BAsically, 20th century fox slapped the makers with "Cease and desist" orders becaus ethey were using their copywrited material
