the shinning

I saw the Shinning on tv last night ( the original) and it made think just how much horror movies these days just suck arse.even with out a high kill count, it was still a very good movie. i think all movie producers, screen writers etc. should sit down and watch these sort of movies, just so they can be reminded of just what real suspence is.

Just picked this one up on DVD....watched it last night...

unless you were watching it on cable, you are missing a great deal of this movie.....GREAT movie...

....even through Stephen King did not like the way Kubrik adapted it .... oh well..

Oh, and its the SHINING...one N only....

This is one movie were a continuation, (not a remake) would be great. Follow the kid as he grows, maybe return to the hotel with his family years later.

naw, stick to the book's story....no need to follow the kid later in life....main reason is that the story was NOT really about the kid.

The main charactor in the book/movie is the Overlook Hotel....the Hotel is the point of the story....

Liked both versions, basically. But the TV movie reeked of network censorship and King's hokey new ending made me cringe. Too bad, really, Id've liked to see a really accurate adaptation of the book. It's King's best work. Light years ahead of the assinine shit he's doing now.
