My Review for Bride of Reanimator
Bride of Re-Animator is the second installment in the popular Re-Animator trilogy, which was made famous by the ground breaking original Re-Animator. Bride picks up eight months after the events of the original. We find Dr. West and Dr. Cain working together to make a human life.
Returning to the role of Herbert West is Jeffrey Combs. Combs plays the part with a compelling force. As the movie goes on you can tell that he is getting crazier, and Combs pulls it off while making it look easy. Alongside Combs is Bruce Abbott as Dr. Carl Hill. Abbott gives us a superb performance, and nails everything.
Bride of Re-Animator is not with out it's faults though. The plot line is rather weak, and has some holes in it. One of which involves the hole in the wall in Dr. West's basement, he hints at what it leads to, and gives some clues but we never get a peak at where the tunnel goes. There are several surprise scares, that just didn't work out. And aside for Combs and Abbott the acting of the supporting cast just isn't that great.
Overall, Bride of Re-Animator is a great film if you are a big fan of the original, and is defiantly worth the money and a hour and a half. But otherwise it is still worth the price of a rental.
