Reality TV for ghosts

So I'm sitting here watching My Haunted House after watching a mini marathon of A Haunting yesterday. And then I notice another one of my favorite tv shows Ghost Adventures is also on at this time (but it's on Netflix so I don't make it a priority watching it when it's on tv). And then there's When Ghosts Attack, another show about ghosts and such that I enjoy. Sure are a lot of Ghost hunting/story shows these days. It's no wonder a few of my friends think they're bunk.

Personally I love these shows. Even if they are fake, the stories are creative and entertaining, enough to give a bit of a jump scare or two once in a while. I even indulge in a little 'ghost hunting' of my own once in a blue moon (I don't dare go alone and it's not often a friend wants to hang out in a cemetery to take photos of headstones).

What do you think though? Do you enjoy these shows? Maybe entertain the thought of life after death? Could there be any truth to these stories?

I want to know why they're always shot at night in the dark. What excuse do they use? I can't stand reality tv, and the ghost shows seems as much a farce as The Real World.

I find myself entertained by these despite the creative licensing. I can't get into the stuff shot in night-vision, however. I prefer a story.

lol, its true..I've caught myself thinking "This would be so lame if it was shot at 10:00 am in the morning" but having said that, I think 3:00 am is so supposed to be the most desolate, haunting time of all thus more action.

Bah, 3am is one of the most peaceful times. Its the day time that's desolate!

I've actually seen an episode of Ghost Adventures addressing that very question. He gave a very good answer but I can't remember all of it. Most I remember is it reduces glares and chances of catching light from the sun and mistaking it for a orb or something in the photographs. Sounds reasonable to me. Like one of reasons it's not advised to go ghosting in the cold is because if you were to catch a mass of something on film, you can't rule out the possibility of it being your breath.

I'm not one for reality tv myself usually. There are some ghost hunter shows (one I think being the original) where they're just so fucking corny I can't help but laugh. They just jump at EVERYTHING. ::big grin::
