A Traveler From An Antique Land...

Hello People...people, Hello!

Like most of you, I trust, I've been a disciple of horror from a very young age. I've always been drawn to the uncanny, the unsettling and the downright creepy. I'm trained as an archaeologist and have a deep interest in folklore and the occult. I suffer from acute fanboy-itis when it comes to horror flicks, though my main interest is in horror in literature. Like many of the new arrivals I see here, I too am a burgeoning author. However, before the exasperated groans begin, rest assured I do not come here with a blog, podcast or e-book to flog.

No, no...I'm just here for the horror, just to talk about the thing. So let's lift the stone and see what's slithering and scuttling underneath!

Welcome stoneboy....to horror. What is your favorite horror literature?

I cut my teeth on King from age 10 and still have a dark spot in my heart for his work, though mostly his older stuff. When I discovered Lovecraft, Machen, Poe and Benson, I was 'lost'. I have a slightly unhealthy addiction to R.L. Stevenson's work as well. Perhaps its my fascination with dusty old things that has kept my focus with the old authors. One of the reasons I'm here is to delve more deeply into the works of modern authors.
