your favorite Horror Movie that was never made

what horror movie do you wish was made that never was?
are you still hopeful for it?

mine was Freddy vs Jason vs Ash (I am saying was as I have lost all hope on it now)

Del Toro's AT the Mountains of Madness (still fingers crossed)

Darren Aronofsky's Flicker (the film I want to see most).

Worst Case Scenario (holds breath - I love the teaser)

Stuart Gordons Shadow over Innsmouth (though he did get to do it eventually as Dagon)

Tim Burton and GEEK LOVE one of my fave books)

Not Horror:

Jodorowsky was meant to do Dune at one stage.

Who Killed Bambi? by Russ Meyer

Neuromancer - many people were attached to this at one stage.

Orson Welles's Heart of Darkness

Max Castle's Heart of Darkness :-P

Orson Welles's Heart of Darkness

While I'd have loved to have seen Who Killed Bambi? made as well, I'm sure it would've been dreadful

Even though it's not a straight adaptation, I would always compare any version of Heart of Darkness to Apocalypse Now. And imo, there arent many movies that can really compare.

I guess you could include The Game of Death in the list too. Though it was released, it certainly wasn't the film that Bruce imagined. Also I would have liked to see Lee in the Kung Fu tv show like he planned.

Again not horror but I never understood why a film version of 'The Catcher in the Rye' was never made.

There was a TV version done - i saw on cable years ago with John Malkovich as
Kurtz and Tim Roth as Marlow. I thought it was good at the time. There was an earlier TV version screened in one of those 'Play for Today' type series with Roddy McDowall and Boris Karloff. I have a copy somewhere but have yet to watch it.

I've seen illustrations of Heart of Darkness, and Kurtz is drawn to look exactly like Karloff. I didnt know that was based on an actual performance.

There are a lot of books I'd love to see made into movies. Or at least given the proper respect they deserve (good budget, director, etc...). A lot of them end up being made for tv movies or go straight to dvd. Which doesnt mean they're terrible, but they were probably done on the cheap and pumped out fast. The biggest perpetrator being Serial Killer books. Zodiac and Monster are really incredible movies, and there are more interesting serial killers to make a movie about.

Looks cool. Like the premise. And the music is really excellent.

Over the years, there's a lot of movies I wanted to see made that never were. In horror, were:

Godzilla Vs Gamera -- when I was a kid I drew a comic for it. Gamera won.

Camps -- Always thought it would be cool if there were three camps, in a land of their own, gothic 1930 feel, one vampire, one werewolf, and one a small band of humans where Frankenstein continued to create an his frakenstein monsters. They would battle for survival and control.

I got my wish to see the prequel to The Thing 82 (disappointing), sequel(s) to Alien and Halloween.

Non-horror movies:

A New Trek -- Always wanted to see the Star Trek universe come in first contact with the Star Wars universe.

The Thrawn Trilogy -- love to see all three of Timothy Zahn's books made into movies. They take off right where Return of the Jedi leave off.

Ender's Game -- love to see this made into a movie. Great book. Oh, how about that. I see it's just been made into a movie to come out in Nov 2013. Cast really well:

Mazer Rackham: Ben Kingsley. Colonel Hyrum Graff: Harrison Ford.

Back in the'70's, Hammer Films announced a "Sherlock Holmes VS Dracula" that was to star Christopher Lee as Dracula and Peter Cushing as Holmes. This would have been my dream movie.
