Autographs Of Horror Stars.

I am now the proud owner of the following autographs:

Lon Chaney, Jr on an album page

Bela Lugosi pencil signature on a card

Boris Karloff signed on the back of a meal ticket with the words Frankenstein written under his signature.

The best of all is an extremely rare signature of Dwight Frye on a card with a few words of sentiment. His autograph is worth more than the other three put together.

I had written Ingrid Pitt and sent her some scanned copies to sign. A letter came back saying that you needed to join the fan club to get autographs. But the great person Ms Pitt was, she signed one of the photos and sent it back to me. Ans she passed away not long after that.

I had sent Angus Scrimm some photos in 2008. In Sept of 2012 I received a phone call from him wanting to know if I still lived at the same address. I was not home and he said that he would call back tomorrow. He in fact did and I had about a 15 minute conversation with him. A real nice guy.

He returned all of my photos and cards signed personally to me plus two of his own.

He said he was looking to do another film soon and it was in the wrorks.

He is 87 years old and still going strong! Like the Energizer Bunny, that Tall man keeps on going.

That made my day ( to quote Clint Eastwood).

Did you know that he was a writer for various magazines including TV Guide? He also won an Emmy Award for LP album liner notes as well as a couple of other nominations.

I will have to copy my blog from The Movie Buff to here so that you can learn all about this fine gentleman.

See in the forum under modern horror movies the thread entitled Angus Scrimm.

I just rewrote it.

We'd still love to check out your blog. As knowledgable as you are about classic films, you must have a lot of interesting things to say.

Now, I'll wait for somebody else to say the same thing so you'll reply. :p

Unfortunately, the blogs were on Multiply and is changing it's format. All blogs will be removed next month.

There is a new group starting up . I had over 1,000 blogs. I have hard copies of all and also the pictures I used. They say that you can save them to the computer. I guess I'll try.

But my blog was about classic actors and films, not just horror.

Anyway here is the site. It will be good through Decdember? Check it out let me know what you think.

Have you thought of starting a blog on wordpress or blogger? They're both free and are not going to go away. You've done so much hard work it would be a shame to have it all disappear.

The group I was in is starting a new site. So when I get set up I will let you know. Since I already had friends here I will use their site.

In the past I made by blogs open to contacts and net work. Not the public.

In the future I will open to public viewing.

I am going to open about 20 of the blogs I have now to the public and you can check them out.

I will notify all on the forum.
