Piranha 3DD

I really enjoyed Alexandre Aja's remake of the Joe Dante classic. it did everything well it balanced tongue in cheek parody and sheer nastiest into an enjoyable wet 'n' wild ride. Unfortunately - the sequel did not.

The film trys to hard to be a cult classic and all the gross out scenes seem to laboured. Despite having a slightly lower budget than the original (remake) it looks and feels a hell of a lot CHEAPER and not in a good way. Maybe I expected too much from it.

Cameos from Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames and Gary Busey are over in minutes and only The Hoff does anything to save the day.

Its mega short too - clocking in at only 83mins. I might be to hard on it as I loved Aja's film so much and I might have rated it higher if it was a random killer fish film. With the title 'Piranha' comes great responsibilty. I also expected it to be more over the top considering it was from the guy who did the Feast films.

I did like the stupid twist though.
