Favorite horror story?

My favorite horror stories are Stephen King's "Room 1408," and some of Neil Gaiman's stories-- "Snow, Glass, Apples," and "Feeders and Eaters."

"Feeders and Eaters" has got to be one of the most disturbing stories ever. The ending just kind of blindsides you. Did not see that ending coming at all.

Its hard to pick a favorite, probably something by Edgar Allan Poe. A more modern one that I really loved was called Prisoners of the Inferno by Peter Atkins (he wrote the script for Hellraiser II, III and IV). The story is actually in a collection of Hellraiser inspired stories by various authors called Hellbound Hearts. It a really good collection.

Scariest is The Wasp Factory. But my faves overall are probably Imajica by Clive Barker and At The Mountains Of Madness by HP Lovecraft.

I'll have to check those out! I love Lovecraft & Poe as well, of course. "The Wasp Factory" is a great title. I've never heard of Peter Atkins, so I'll have to look him up. I grew up on the Hellraiser films. :)
