Minority Report becomes real!
 

The very first thing that came to our minds when Microsoft Kinect got hacked was the awesome, but still suffering from gorilla arm syndrome, UI used by Tom Cruise in the Sci-fi film Minority Effect.

Students at Robot Locomotion Group and Learning Intelligent Systems teams at MIT have managed to employ the open source Kinect drivers to create a UI that is driven by detecting gestures from your palms and ten fingers. Just like what we saw in Minority Report.

On topic, this is fantastic. I was actually just saying the other day that the power glove should come back, now that we have significantly better technology. Personally, I'd like to have a "power glove" mouse that I could use to control my laptop so that I don't have to deal with touch pads, track balls, or that stupid little rubber nub when I'm out in public.
