Toys That Want To Hurt You
Here I go again, showing my age.
As a young girl growing up in the 70s, there were some toys that would probably never be sold to children in this day and age. One toy I remember in particular was the Kerbangers. On cold days, I swear I can still feel the deep bruises this toy gave me. Any others of this nature?http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_lWGaahq7pQ...rbangers2!.JPG |
Lawn Darts has to be one of the stupidest concepts ever

I remember Wonder Bread used to put prizes in the bags. I had a friend whose father worked for Wonder Bread and he would bring home a bunch of them. One I remember clearly were these white pellets that you threw and they would let off a bang similar to a cap. I don't imagine anyone was ever hurt by these, but the idea of this happening today is laughable. Hey kids, get a free low grade explosive with your bread!! |
Yeah I think those things were known as "throw downs"?
Something like that. Don't think you can get them anymore I remember shops seeming to get rid of them when I was in high school in the 90's. Ha, just *disclaimer - NOBODY should do this* get some sawdust soaked in a mixture of iodine crystals and cloudy ammonia, wrap it up tight in a handkerchief or thick tissue, let it dry in a cool dark place, CAREFULLY pick it up and throw THAT down. As for hurtful toys...always thought LEGO was designed specifically to really hurt feet... |

I had a Sky Dancer growing up and I loved that doll. Basically Sky Dancers are faerie dolls with wings for arms that when you pull a string on the base the doll will raise into the air and fly. The problem is that the wings where rather hard, almost sharp and the doll spun around awfully fast when taking off so several kids got cuts and lacerations from the dolls, they where actually taken off the shelfs for this, though I never had a problem with mine.
