Dennis Hopper honored with star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Los Angeles, March 27 (DPA) - Cancer-stricken actor Dennis Hopper was honored Friday with a star on Hollywood's walk of fame.
http://media2.myfoxla.com//photo/201...04_320_240.JPG The actor, 73, is reportedly too weak to continue chemotherapy for his advanced prostate cancer. But he received permission from his doctor to attend the short ceremony recognizing his contribution to more than 150 movies. http://i.usatoday.net/communitymanag...-community.jpg Hopper began his career in the 1955 classic Rebel Without a Cause and is most famous for his role in the 1969 counter-culture movie, Easy Rider. 'Everything I learned in life I learned from you,' a frail-looking Hopper told the crowd. 'This means so much to me. Thank you very much everyone, and Hollywood.' |
Excellent, and also pretty sad.

Well Deserved.

Bloody Ribcut, I must say that your avatar is wonderful. Brigitte Helm as the Robot Maria in Metropolis is one of my all-time favorite performances.
|
Bravo, Dennis. It's great to see you get this recognition.
|
Good for him, the dude definitely deserves the recognition, although a star on the Walk of Fame has to be the most meaningless honor ever. Judge Judy has a star for fuck's sake.
|
Fuckin' hell he looks pretty bad...guys, get your ass checks...
Seems like we'll be losing another great this year. |
Long overdue. Christ he looks in a bad way :(
|
cool, he so deserves it :)
|
Good for him. the cancer thing really sucks though, looks like he's fading real fast.
