WARNING: The image below might disturb some.
WARNING BEFORE CLICKING THIS LINK GRAPHIC IMAGE http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/7...1edited8ag.jpg My friend told me about this disease a while ago,and kept meaning to post about it,but while watching "Creature from the Black Lagoon" it reminded me of this disease and looked a little more into it.It is called Harlequin type ichthyosis. The disease is said for the child to have scales instead of skin, and redsih color in eyes,mouth,ears....etc http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harlequin_type_ichthyosis |
Ahhh, I thought this was going to be a thread about me....
hehehe nope.....sorry for the disappointment
Why would you want to post pictures of real deformed babies here?
Yeh, I've heard about that before. Very ad, a lot of the babies die from it but with quick action they can sorted. It's all to do with their dry skin. Eventually their eyes sort out and their skin gets pinker and get's less cracked, although it's still very dry and painful. They don't usually live past twenty, if that far. VERY quick action has to be taken at birth to ensure survival.
But I think a warning of what the picture is above it or even better just a link to the picture might be better. |
I agree it is very sad, when any rare disease happens.
I changed the picture to a link now. - Thanks Ferret |
Good move, NOD.
I've heard it referred to as Harlequinn syndrome. You can recognize the face in the glass of orange juice in Flayed's signature as one of those guys.
OK, who's the jokester that put maraschino cherries in his eye sockets?
I generally geek out over medical abnoralities and genetic anomalies... But this just makes me sad.
