need a new dvd player...

Due to my unusual living situation, i have to go over to the main house on the ranch and watch movies in the computer room on a computer (my "home" is less than half the size of a small bedroom and there is no room for anything.) i think that my external computer dvd player is dying, and the internal player in the computer is already dead. Nearly perfect dvds skip a lot when i play them, but on the rare occasion that i get to use a regular dvd player/tv combo they will play without fault. Also, there is a cat that lives in the computer room that really likes to knock everything over, so i have to unhook the player after watching a flick or he'll surely knock it onto the ground. i was just wondering if i should get another external computer dvd player or if there were other options such that i could hook up a player to the computer monitor directly, bypassing the computer altogether. i have also thought about an actual portable dvd player, but the screens are just so small. BTW, i have very limited funds so i'd like to do this on the cheap. Thanks. Ashe.

can probably purchase a cheap dvd player at the pawn shops, and if the screen is too small you could hook it up to a tv...right?

Get a new internal dvd player for your comp. Preferably a DVD+RW combo if you can. Or if you can save a little bit more, an external dvd player for the TV is always the best option.

I d recommend Sony or Pioneer. Both are pretty cheap.

Yeah..possible. Once I used to watch movies on a PC monitor (samsung 14 inch) that connected with a dvd player via TV card.:)
