Awesome opportunity for writers
 

Cracked.com is having their semi-monthly writer corral where they advertise that you can sign up and become a writer for the site. Signing up is easy, getting articles accepted isn't.

All it takes is the desire to write and a unique perspective (although familiarity with the site helps since you have to match the type of wit). In the almost 5 years I was actually a regular poster here, I have found quite a few of you to be pretty hilarious, so it might be worth a shot.

A couple of disclaimers:

They pay $50 for a completed article, they pay through paypal (so you need an account) and they pay the friday after you invoice them. It is about the best deal on the internet.

In case you think I have become a horrible spam-whore doing this for money, I am not getting a thing for this, I just figured sending some props to my old friends was in order, especially since my ass hasn't been around here in forever.

It is AWESOME exposure. They will include a byline with your article, so if you have a website you want to send traffic to, they will include a link. Everyone who does this sees from a 300% to 1000% spike in traffic the day their article runs with a good 10% of those people becoming regular readers.

To date, my 4 articles that have run have accumulated over 2.5 million views, and my first one ran on April 21st.

I used to write - quite a bit too and made some money on it.

i just can't get into the frame of mind now. I have a great concept for a horror film but doing the script is fucking killing me. i dunno what has changed.
