HDC Weekly Debate: Are you superstitious?

Well...are you?

Do you avoid walking under ladders?
Believe in horseshoes hanging like an U over your door?
Keep four-leaf clovers and rabbits' feet close?
Do your best to not break a mirror?
Throw salt over your left shoulder after you have spilled some?
Sit at home and do nothing on the 13th, if it is a Friday?
Always open umbrellas outdoors on rainy days?

Let's hear it.

And if you believe in any others, let's hear them also.

not in the fucking least.

Nah....It may cross my mind if I break a mirror or a black cat walks in front of me...but I won't dwell on it.

Not superstitious at all

My dad has one though. He will always wear the same football shirt to a game until we lose a match then he will never wear it again, believing it to be jinxed from that point.

No way Jose!

I make a point of walking under ladders, stepping on cracks, approaching black cats, spilling salt when I'm around someone superstitious. I've broken numerous mirrors. Nuff Said.

Definitely not.

However, I am at times obsessive-compulsive, which I guess in some instances could be confused with superstition: both involve going out of one's way to do or avoid a certain action or something like that.

This isn't much of a debate.

bwind22 02-11-2009 02:41 PM

Not at all. I base my decisions on logic.

Same here. I notice when those kind of things happen, and I'll joke about it or mess with whoever it happened to, but there's nothing real to it as far as I'm concerned.
