HDC Chooses: Favorite Geek Movie?

I have been reading several articles pertaining to the thread title, and thought it would be cool to know what everyone's favorite geek movie is.

I have a few in mind already - Office Space, Blade Runner, The Matrix, Repo Man, WarGames, Hackers, Back to the Future trio, etc.

Mine would be a toss up between Office Space and Blade Runner. I would lean slightly towards the latter because of the visuals, storyline and technology portrayed in it. Its pretty much a complete geek (and gawk!) movie for me.

So...whats your fav? Lets hear it.

Hackers for sure. I also love The Matrix movies, especially when you watch the Animatrix and get all the nicely animated back story.

Dune. Even the tv mini-series Dune.
Any Star Trek movie.
and the first three Star Wars movies. The Clone Wars tv show has turned out pretty good aswell.
Tranformers had me nerding out.

uhm I may add more later when I am not as busy and can think of more.

What is the criteria for a movie to be labeled "geek"?

Out of your list, I would choose the "Back To The Future" movies. I could watch them over & over

People wont remember a very young Angelina Jolie in Hackers.

And agreed, all Star Trek movies so far have been real trips.

I would say nerdy, and gawky. An ultimate fantasy come true for introverts and techies. Something like that.

In our genre, which would be the geek flicks? The Alien, Scanners, Carrie-esque ones?

If that is true, Alien takes the crown for me.

Nightmare Alley for sure....

Office Space!:D Empire Strikes Back would be my second choice.

Star Wars for me.
