Scariest moments in psychological thrillers?

What do you think are some of the most chilling moments in a psychological thriller? These are usually movies based on the emotions of characters, with the main plot of the movie more like a setting for the characters.
Some examples are: The Sixth Sense, Signs, The Silence Of The Lambs, Rosemarys Baby, Cape Fear(?), etc.

The Sixth Sense - When the boy walks into the kitchen to find a ghost woman with slit wrists. This is one of those disturbing images that isnt easy to forget.

The Silence of the Lambs - When she is in the basement with Buffalo Bill. Tense shit!

Seven - Remember the guy that the killer was starving and malnurishing for like more than a year? then the police find him, and someone is all lookin at him all close with a flashlight or something and all of a sudden he jumps up in the officers face:eek: That was fucking priceless, and ofcorse the momemnt when Kevin Spacy walks into the station and yells at brad pitts char and morgan freeman to arrest him, and you gotta love that ending.

Personal favorites are the Hannibal trilogy tho.

Im always surprised by the lack of interest people on this board give Psychological thrillers/horror. Just closed minded really. They are missing out on alot of good movies.

I agree. Seven is one of my big faves. Morgan Freeman was great in that. It's a very gory psychological thriller.

And, I know everyone is tired of hearing me talk about it, and I'm basicly the only person on Earth that likes it LOL, but I think The Stepfather fits nicely in this catagory. I think Terry O'Quinn did a fabulous job of portraying a likeable nut. The movie itself was nothing brilliant, but O'Quinn's character was VERY well developed IMO.

Taxi Driver would be another good contender in this sub-genre as well.

I thought The Cell was grossly underrated. It was because of Jennifer Lopez's dumbass tho. Its a shame, damn fine movie IMHO.

does the Ring count? I really love the scene on the end when the boy says to his mother something like " You helped her? You wasn't supposed to help her. don't you get it? She never sleeps." and also when the girl crawls out from the TV...totally freaked me out..
