"The Exorcist" is one of the most intelligent movies ever.

I have read the novel "The Exorcist" twice. For those of you who are ignorant bastards, the novel was based on the Bestseller list of the "New York Times" long before a screenplay was written. William Peter Blatty authored the book and later wrote the screenplay. A devout Catholic, he based his story on an actual event in Boston, which was witnessed by many dozens of people in the 40's. These witnesses included police officers. The boy's identification has been hidden even to this day. Even though I am an affirmed Agnostic, I do believe something was afoot with that young man 60 some odd years ago in boston. What? I don't know. But the UNCUT film is a good starting point for those who refuse to read the novel. Not a bod adaptation, even though one would expect it to be good because the adapter was the novelist. You can probably see I love everything to do with "The Exorcist". My goodness, I'm speechless!!

Uh...WTF? Why, may I ask, are you telling people things which they already know? Why are you calling people you don't even know, idiots? As if this information is only made available exclusively to you alone. EVERYBODY on this planet already knows what inspired The Exorcist. That is the oldest fucking news since "Swanson was the inventor of TV dinners." Go fuck yourself!

It was alright, but not the end all be all of horror AND storytelling in general, like some people believe....

The exorcist was a disturbing movie, yes, I will give it that. I've also read the book and found it to be a decent read, though not to my usual taste, and I've heard that both were based on a true story, though probably in the same way that "The Amityville horror" and "Texas chainsaw massacre" are said to be based "on a true story". Those points I'll concede to you, but you presented no argument as to why the Exorcist is, as you put it "one of the most intelligent movies ever".
