scissor suicide movie?

I need some help IDing a movie for a friend. Here's what she says:

"I once saw a horror movie with a suicide scene where a guy props open scissors and then jams them down his throat, except that maybe this was a bad dream because every time I describe it I just get blank looks, even from movie buffs. Anyone?"

Does that ring a bell with anyone?

Scissors

Yes . . . sounds like your friend is talking about Frank Dodd's suicide in THE DEAD ZONE. Very disturbing scene, one that I've never forgotten either. <shivers>

sleepaway, how about this then?;
Cut a squash "raquet" (?) half way through the "loop", remove all the remaining "strings' (?), hold with both hands, put the cut "loop" sides against each eye, then fall foward, allowing the "end" of the raquet to hit the floor first...?
