External Hardrives

I have to get one, I was hoping you all could give me some feedback on the different brands you have used. I have read mixed things about a number of them, so if you use one then go ahead and discuss it... :)

I have a Seagate FreeAgent Xtreme 1 TB which does wonderfully well for me. Been 3 months now.

Hassle free, fast as heck, easy to install and very easy to use. I would recommend that highly.

Seagate, Western Digital are good (they are hard drive manufacturers).

The other thing you should be considering is the mode of connection.

E-SATA > Firewire > USB

Depends on what connections you have on your PC though.

Dunno what mine is but on my computer it calls itself "My Book".

It's always worked fine for me.

Good point, If it is by USB then i would only be able to conect the hard drive and my mouse at the one time... So it would be no good to me if I put my music on there, how would I get it to my ipod?

And those other 2 connections don't seem to be on my laptop....

Most of the hardrives I'm looking at seem to be USB though.

You could buy one of those USB things that add more ports. I have one. It goes into one USB slot and creates another 6.

I wasn't aware of that, do you know what it is actually called....?

Just had a quick look and they're called USB Hubs.

Here's a website with them. They're pretty cheap.
