Needful Things

Has anyone seen the extended version of this? Is it comercially available? I'd love to see it. Anyone even actually seen it, is it better than the movie like I'm hoping?

Never heard that there was an extended version.. I liked the original, though. i love ed harris. If i didnt like my dad, i would want him to be my dad. (but i like my dad)

Yeah I think they aired it on some cable channel or something as when it was originally shot it was like mini series length so it was all put back in, all the character stuff that was lost in the movie and even extra characters from the novel. It's MUCH longer.

Yeah Ed Harris is cool.

He would make a cool dad! I thought that while watching the classic multi Oscar award winning 'Milk Money'.

yeah I never heard of an extended version either, I did love the movie though. And Ed Harris was too cool.

The longer version (around 3-1/2 hours, I think) is a much better and cohesive film. The opening is very different and details Gaunt's arrival. This version airs on cable station TBS here in the U.S. occasionally. I think TBS actually owns it, as I've never seen it on any other station. It's a shame. There have been at least two DVD releases of Needful Things here, neither of which include the additional footage.
