The Final Solution

easy way to cut down on idiot newbs who spam up the board: Lock applications

I mod and admin at two different forums and I don't even know what the fuck you're talking about.

Explain.

Sam The Egg 02-09-2004 05:40 PM

simply don't allow new members. The other board I'm at (thesmartmarks.com) isn't allowing new members at the moment

Evisceration 02-09-2004 05:42 PM

That wouldn't work.

I can see using it while the site is getting cleaned and shit, but since we're not that big of a community, I don't think we would be using it anytime soon.

GorePhobia 02-14-2004 10:05 PM

yeah deffinatly not since half of us all joined not that long ago making us n00b's also

Speak for yerself, biznitch....

It would make perfect sense, most of the noobs just post once or twice and it's all junk. I think it's a great idea:)

cheebacheeba 02-29-2004 05:46 AM

But if they only post once or twice, like you say, then where exactly is the problem? The only thing that'd keep those posts up is peoples response to them anyway...

Killer Clown#1 02-29-2004 06:41 AM

But they are still shitty threads, and they delete an old one. I mean "the one and only vs thread" is gone, I can't find it.

What is the point of having a forum if nobody can join it? I think that defeats it's purpose. I also think that certain members who are so offended by what a few newbies are posting should just learn to ignore it, unless it is something which is a direct attack on the current members. The term "Spam" is open to individual interpritation. What you may think is useless or boring could be intresting to somebody else, and vise-versa. Just because you don't like what somebody who is new posted, that doesn't give you the right to say that they shouldn't be here. If that were the case, you would be the moderator, which you are not. So, on that note, I would suggest that you stop splitting hairs over the newbies in this forum, and find something more worthy of your time to contemplate. Life OFF of the computer is a great place to start.;)
