R.I.P. Update

Just a short update on the possible death of Batman thread which appeared a couple weeks ago. Read the conclusion (Detective Comics No. 850) to the R.I.P. storyline currently running through the Batman books the other day and Batman is now --- still among the living. Not even close to dying. Pretty cool ending though. Would have made a great scene in a movie. :)

Did you really think he was going to die? And if yes, did you actually expect him to stay dead? He's probably the single most popular comic book character right now.

I never followed the comic, but what happened with the whole Bane breaking his back thing? Did Bruce take a couple of aspirin and spend a weekend on the couch?

I think the "R.I.P" thing was more a conceptual thing in terms of the batman, how he's viewed himself/operated up until this point...and how this may change in future after the events.

He took a lot of time off. His place was filled by Tim Drake as Robin, Dick Grayson as Nightwing and for a while Jean Paul Valley actually became the new batman. Eventually he recovered.

Bane was awesome in the 90s.

If I remember (kinda) correctly he had a girl friend, a psychiatrist I think, with some sort of psychic powers that helped him recover completely.
