Which is better in a movie?

Which is better?
Knowing who the killer is at the beginning of the movie, and the entire way through
or
waiting until the end when the killer's identity is revealed?

I think it depends on the type of movie you're making and the general feel of the overall sequence of things. Sometimes, it's cool to see who it is and see what happens as they progress through the various scenes.

On the other hand, for some of the creepier ones that do not show it right away...it gives it more of that thrill to find out who it is, who it could be and whether your guess was right or not.

Then there is the very very RARE types that only leave hints or clues of who the killer/main character is, but never truely reveals the identity. Those are the types I like a lot as well, of course it also depends on my mood. They don't always guarantee a sequel (or need one for that matter) but the suspense of keeping you guessing is a good clincher. :D

What movie would that have been in?

I can't recall any right off the top of my head, but I was speaking as more of a generic view then for a particular movie itself. There are plenty of books or short stories I've read that has that sort of thing involved within the storyline. :)

I think for most parts it is better to wait until the end of the movie to find out who the killer is. I like to be surprised..though most movies I've guessed it by the end anyways. But, sometimes there is a twist..

I just think it depends on the whole concept of the movie. Like in Sleepaway camp you really didnt know who the killer was and made you guess through the whole movie BUT in the sequels you automatically know who the killer is and all you can say is "Angela Kill the Bastards" Heheheh so it just depends..

I pretty much knew Angela was the killer in Sleepaway Camp but was totally surprised that she was a he. Even though there was hints of that through out the movie. Scared the hell out of me! But what kind of makes me kind of mad is that they mainly threw out the part that she is a he and in the rest of movies she/he is seen topless. Showing that it is a girl..they never explained that if he/she had a sex change or what? But that is a whole different subject....

She wore that weird taped-up bra in the sequels though and never exposed any of her flesh. So she's never really seen "topless."

Really?? Learn somethingnew everyday huh! lol Its been a long long time since I seen any of them. I remember seeing a girl with tiny breast that had some word jiggle or something across it thinking ok??(first of all she didn't have anything to jiggle to begin with but hey lol)I'm just teasing.....:D But I was wondering what happened to he/she thing...I only really liked part 1 and I guess I'll have to rewatch the rest thanks for telling me that....

The sequels were vague about the whole boy/girl thing. They were pretty much pointless fun though. They make me laugh.
