just saw scanners
i don't think i'd ever watched it entirely. great film, very canadian feel to it (eg. you can tell it's n. american but somehow.. european), colors were terrific. it's a monumental pity that the main character is such a hammy actor. all the other performers were quite good and he sticks out with this contrast. dubbing was a bit dodgy in spots.
the spy-like intrigue/horror sub-genre is not one that i imagine contains a lot of movies.. people might erroneously call scanners a sci-fi but i don't think so. the facial freak-out telekenesis scenes were of the highest order! |
I totally agree two thumbs up for "Scanners" the music in that film is pretty good too, gives a real tense urgency to the film.

Yeah Scanners is excellent. Has anyone seen the sequel though as I never bothered and was wondering if it's worth hunting down?
|
never seen the scanners sequel or videodrome but weirdly, my mother really liked videodrome when she caught it on hbo one night a long time ago. she was raving about the 'gun-hand in the stomach scene' the next day?
