Hello, looking for recommendations

Hello everyone, you may notice by my post count that I'm new to the forums. I've always been a fan of horror movies, but over the last few months I've been actively watching movies from this genre with some friends.

Anyway, I did a quick google search and found this site in hopes to find more(quality) movies.

I'm going to run off some of the recent movies I've seen and what I thought about them to hopefully illustrate my general likes/dislikes within the genre.

Liked:
Hatchet
Wrong Turn 2
Halloween(series)
Usually movies with really sweet deaths and/or cool characters, can still classify as a 'bad' movie.

Disliked:
One Last Call
Prom Night
Insanitarium
13: Game of Death
The Cottage

For me it's mostly all about the deaths. :D If there are good deaths and a bad story I can at least find the movie bearable.

All suggestions are welcomed and appretiated, and also what do you guys(and gals) uphold as "must see" horror films?

P.S. I look forward to chatting with everyone and hope to stick around the forums for some time to come. :p

That should get you started. In terms of good death scene movies the Final Destination movies come to mind. The Saw series and Hostel movies too, and Mind Hunters did fairly well with death scenes IMO.

Take a gander at some of the 'top 100' threads in the general forum.

Also, look in Japanese Horror. You might enjoy One Missed Call (the original)

You might enjoy "House of 1000 Corpses" and "The Devil's Rejects". I know I did.

I recommend checking out Maniac, My Bloody Valentine and Intruder (the slasher flick not the other one). For something more modern give Inside a go.

My recommendation: Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. Sounds right up your alley.

PS - What part of PEI are you from? I used to spend just about every summer over there and have been from tip to tip many times. BEAUTIFUL place, I really need to get back. I'm from N.B. myself.
