Best EFX in horror...

As a student of make-up effects I just have to ask what movies everyone feels have the best effects. im gunna break it down into 3 catagories: Creature, Gore and Character. Granted this is a kinda hard question to answer, seeing that there are a million movies to choose from but i just went with what came to mind

Creature- Hmm Aliens, Predator, and the Relic
Gore- Day of the Dead- gotta love that Rhoads scene
Character- probaly this new movie Monster. charlize therons transformation was insane.

Anything Savini ever did is worth taking a look at. Giannetto De Rossi is great too. Check out Screaming Mad George, Greg Cannom, KNB, Rob Bottin as well.

yeah those KNB guys dont fuck around. although i just read an article somwhere saying that Berger (i think it was him) is leaving the make-up scene in order to produce and possibly direct.

Yeah. I read the plot of his upcoming movie and remembering it being cool. KNB will still kick-ass though. Did you see Kill-Bill?

yeah i saw it. it was ok. lets just say i didnt agree the the stylistic choice of making the crazy 88 scene black and white. a fine waste a kyro syrup if you ask me.

Well, that was to trick the ratings board I believe. But KNB was supplying that syrup and I thought they did a fantastic job.

How about the grossest--the rotting cadaver in one of the Nekromantic movies (I believe 2); thanks to time-elapse photography, it literally rotted to the bone right before your eyes--complete with maggots.

May sound weird but I thought that the scene where the guy thinks his face was peeling apart was a pretty good efect for The Poltergeist's time
