Who has seen The Strangers?

This movie freaked me out! I don't want to give away to much, but the fact that it relied on tension instead of gore is appreciated by me. I did not expect it to be so good! I know most on here are fans of blood and gore, but this movie messes with your mind, and I think that is the worse kind of torture.

*****Possible Spoilers*****

I am confused by the ending when the girl says "it will be easier next time". What does she mean by that? I would love to talk more about it, but don't want to give away to much. Just know that if you are in it for gore and special effects, this is not the movie for you, but if you enjoy the subtle psychological torture by playing mind games, then you should enjoy this movie.

I hope this has not been posted before, but the search function is not working for me.

I would love to see it because I'm so into the less gore more scare you know? But sadly I can't right now becuase I know that if I do, my paranoia would increase.

But I hope it's done well; the trailer looked amazing!

I thought the first 3/4 of the movie were excellent, but the ending just ruined it.

I thought it looked good, but not good enough to see in theatres.

I'll check out the DVD for sure though, despite some less than stellar reviews.

like alky, i enjoyed only about the first hour or so of this movie.

I enjoyed this movie as well. I think she meant the next time they do that to somebody, it will be easier.

****Spoiler Alert****

The scene where he has the shotgun was the only completely unrealistic scene to me. If I were in that situation, with a loaded working shotgun, there is absolutely no way I'm not getting out alive, especially considering "the strangers" didn't have a gun.

I'm torn with this movie. I think after seeing Ils and Inside I raised the bar for my expectations for Home Invasion movies.

I think that it was ok, though could have been much better.

[QUOTE=ChronoGrl;723225]I'm torn with this movie. I think after seeing Ils and Inside I raised the bar for my expectations for Home Invasion movies.

I saw The Strangers before I saw either of those so I really liked it when I saw it, but I can see where you're coming from. Ils and Inside were really amazing and much more creative and original. But I did like the emphasis The Strangers had on suspense instead of gore. It takes more talent to scare without the overuse of gore.
