Need help with a very serious problem
 

Okay guys. I have a huge problem and have noone else i can turn to with it.

And just to guve a heads up this is a very sensitive matter

My roommate and I met when we were living in the homeless shelter last year. He loaned me his laptop from time to time to watch some of the movies he had downloaded. While I was perusing the files I came across a curious folder labled "Temp". Expecting some more of the same tye of movie I found something very distressing. I found bestiality and child porn. I gave him the benifit if the doubt (After all, I have downloaded some files that were mislabeled and it was some kiddie porn, wich I promptly deleted). Maybe he had forgotten about it I told myself and said nothing about it to him. He didnt act like a pedo or zooiphile, and often mocked someone we knew to be a pedo.

That was about a year ago. Now I got home tonight and I iwas searching through the history dropdown looking for a site I had puled up the other day and found a link to a bestiality forum where he had registered. I know his user name (he uses the same name everywhere much like myself).

Now I have a problem. Do I confront him. Ask him whats going on, try to get him help. If it comes out with the authorities for whatever reason, Im going to be associated with it by proxy. I love the man with all my heart and he has led a very screwed up and abused life, but this is almost inexcusable by any society standards.

I really need help and advice on this my friends...

I'd mention something to him before going to the authorities...talk to him about it. If he left it in the history of a shared computer, it seems like he's pretty much asking for someone to find it - perhaps he wants/needs help, but just doesn't know how to ask?

Rough situation though...hope everything works out somehow.

Well, it does sound like he's almost certainly involved in that kind of thing. He's your friend and it sounds like he does need friends, so don't go straight to the authorities. But you do have to think about yourself, as if they track it down, you'll be in deep shit too. Confront him about it, but make sure to be understanding. If the problem persists however, and you think it makes escalate from downloading this to something much worse, you have to do something serious.

The Temp folder, if I remember correctly, has everything that was downloaded in it. So he may have actually deleted the files before and just didn't know they were still in the temp folder. (I could be wrong though) I would definitely talk to him first.

Yikes......if he's a good friend I would confront him and try to get him help. If he got bellligerent then I would sever all ties. Not only is it illegal its pretty damn immoral.

The guy needs help, regardless of what you chose to do. I guess bottom line is, hopefully you can help him get it, in the end.

Now I might believe that some pictures in the windows temp file were leftover from a previous owner and he wasn't aware of them.

But there's no way in hell that you "accidentally" register for a bestiality forum.

Well it could be a misleading forum... Like horse lovers, or dog lovers or something.... but then again he would probably have gone through the forum to actually check it out first...

Though, I'd put the fear of god into him for the child porn.... thats just me though
