Computer Virus...Help...

My computer has been infected with IE Anti-Virus spyware/malware/adware. Every time I open a program, it forces me to a site and a lot of pop-ups. What program can I use to erase it that's free. I don't want to pay $50 for something and it still not work.

I've tried:

Ad Aware
Spybot
Norton

Any help please? This really sucks. :(

Thanks.

I'm downloading it now. I hope this one works. I can't even access the regular files on my computer.

Make sure you let it update before you scan, wich could take a while

For some reason it won't even install. It freezes during the installation.

Man, dont know... you may have to wipe the hard drive and start all over

Ewido worked well for me last time I was in this kind of shit.

CCleaner is great for the aftermath, too.

You have to isolate the IP addy of the malware shit in your registry first.

My suggestion - HijackThis.

Do a google search for it and download the program.

Install it, and run a scan. In the list displayed, look for addresses which point to IP numbers. Click on the checkboxes beside their names, and hit Fix Checked.

Delete, reboot and you are clean.

One of my friends had this recently. Sorry, but he said the only way he got it was by reinstalling windows.

Thanks everyone for your help!

I finally got rid of it last night.

I went to look up the program Return mentioned, "Ewido". Ewido and AVG are now the same company, so I re-downloaded the install file for AVG-Free. I ran it, and 5 minutes later, all traces of that annoying little bug were gone.

Norton Anti-Virus sucks apparently, if a freeware program can do better.
