Rose McGowan is 'Red Sonja'

Nu Image/Millennium will remake "Red Sonja" with Rose McGowan in the title role, with Robert Rodriguez producing along with Avi Lerner, Boaz Davidson, Joe Gatta and George Furla. Pic will be presented by Rodriguez and directed by Douglas Aarniokoski from David White's script. Pic's set to begin lensing in October. Danny Dimbort, Trevor Short, Luke Lieberman and Dynamite Entertainment prexy Nick Barrucci are exec producing. "Red Sonja" is based on the character created by Robert E. Howard and adapted for Marvel Comics by Roy Thomas. Story centers on a young girl overcoming tragedy to become the most feared woman warrior of all time as she seeks vengeance on those who destroyed her family and discovers a larger purpose for her unearthly powers. Millennium's Davidson said the "Sonja" project is designed to build on branded properties similar to its development of "Conan," "Hercules" and "The Three Musketeers." The 1985 version of "Red Sonja" starred Brigitte Nielsen and Arnold Schwarzenegger. |
I'll never see it.
I refuse to see a movie of which the title character is cast by someone who doesn't look and is incapable of acting anything like said character, simply because she's sleeping with the director and he's whipped as a fucking ice cream sundae. Robert Rodriguez used to be cool. |

Yanno, I was about to say I couldn't see Rose playing Red Sonja, either...but now that I look at the above pics, I dunno. I guess I can kinda see it...somewhat.

I think she looks like the said character especially if she uses the hair color she had on Charmed.
