What films do you think should have gotten best picture that didn't? I know there was some controversy before over the French Connection and Clockwork Orange.

Taxi Driver and 12 Angry Men

Forrest Gump over both Pulp Fiction and The Shawshank Redemption...damn shame

The French Connection deserved its Award.

Scorsese's been jipped plenty of times.
Goodfellas was a much better picture than Dances With Wolves.
Ordinary People won the '81 Oscar. Raging Bull shoulda'.

Personally, I think Pulp Fiction was more deserved of the '94 statuette than Forrest Gump (a film I find wildly overrated).

As every film fan knows, Hitchcock never won an Oscar for Best Director. How's that??

I think the biggest one is Taxi Driver, I liked Rocky as well but c'mon...


The Maltese Falcon and Citizen Kane deserved wins too IMO.
